Spinach and Hummus Pizza

  • 1 can (15 ounces) garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained
  • 3 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ c. Tahini (sesame seed paste)
  • 1-½ tbsp. Whole Cumin Seed
  • ½ tsp. Garlic Powder
  • ¼ tsp. Ground Oregano
  • 1 tbsp. Mazola® Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 3 c. thinly sliced onion, rings separated
  • 1 (12-inch) prepared pizza crust
  • 1 c. fresh spinach, firmly packed
  • ½ c. grated Asiago cheese
  • ½ c. crumbled Feta cheese
  • 1 c. shredded mozzarella cheese


  1. Preheat oven to 450ºF.
  2. Place beans, lemon juice, Tahini, cumin seed, garlic powder and oregano in a food processor; process until smooth.
  3. Heat oil in skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook 5 to 7 minutes or until golden brown. Spread 1/2 cup hummus onto pizza crust. Top with onion and spinach; sprinkle evenly with Asiago, feta and mozzarella cheeses. Bake 12 to 14 minutes or until cheese is lightly browned.


Serve remaining hummus with pita chips. Or use as a sandwich spread.
