Whole Allspice

Whole Allspice

As you might suspect from its name, allspice has a sweet taste that’s reminiscent of a number of different spices, including cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg. Because of its sweetness, it’s commonly used in baked goods like spice cakes, dessert breads and cookies. It’s also the primary flavor in Jamaican jerk seasoning. In fact, much of our Spice Islands® whole allspice comes from Jamaica.

Many chefs prefer whole allspice because of the more intense flavor and aroma you get by crushing or grinding it just prior to use.

Our Whole Allspice is only allspice. Spice Islands® spices and herbs don’t contain added sugar, fillers or other ingredients so you get the most authentic flavor every time.
