Our Spice Islands® garlic is harvested in California, then put through a unique process to create a garlic powder that has similar flavor notes to fresh garlic. The very fine powder disperses easily in liquids and works well in sauces. Unlike the granulated garlic some brands label as garlic powder.

Distinctively pungent, garlic complements almost any savory dish. We recommend using 1/4 tsp of garlic powder for every clove of fresh garlic.

While we don’t know the exact date garlic was first cultivated, we know it was grown in Mesopotamia in 3,000 BC. Garlic bulbs were fed to the Egyptians who built the pyramids and were placed in King Tutankhamun’s tomb.
