CURRY POWDER

Curry is an essential component of Indian fare. The term is used to describe both an entree, such as potato curry or chicken curry, as well as the combination of spices used to give these dishes their intriguing taste.

Most Indian cooks craft their own specific curry mixtures, often passing them down through the generations from mother to daughter. It has been said that there are as many curries as there are villages in India.

In this spirit, Spice Islands offers three distinct curry blends, each made with their own special combination of spices to add authentic Indian flavor to your favorite recipes.

CURRY POWDER

This blend has a deep gold color and aromatic perfume. Adds complex flavor without being too hot or spicy.

RED CURRY POWDER

Add red coloring to dishes with red curry, which adds a dark red color as well as a deep earthy flavor that contains a robust burst of heat.  Red curry is ground finely so that the flavor disperses entirely throughout the dish.

SPICY CURRY POWDER

Round out the flavor of a dish with spicy curry. Its blend of onion and crushed red pepper appears vibrantly yellowish-gold.
